Freshness, salinity and a clear sense of place in the new blend of Trebbiano, Vermentino and Chardonnay.
Castellina in Chianti, March 2026 – Cecchi (link) presents Lobelia, the new Toscana IGT that expands the range with a white wine offering a fresh, dynamic interpretation of Tuscany, paired with a distinctive visual identity created through digital decoration with organic inks applied directly onto the glass.
Made from Trebbiano, Vermentino and Chardonnay grapes, Lobelia is designed to express a natural balance between aromatic fragrance, salinity and easy drinkability. An important part of this profile originates in the climate of the Tuscan Maremma, where proximity to the sea and constant ventilation support even ripening, helping preserve freshness and aromatic intensity.
“With Lobelia, we wanted to interpret the fresher, more versatile side of Tuscany. It’s a white wine designed for balance, drinkability and a strong affinity with food — suited to a wide range of occasions, while also appealing to a younger, more easygoing audience, without losing the connection to the territory and the attention to quality that have always defined our work”, says Andrea Cecchi, President and CEO of the company.
The visual identity builds on the creative direction introduced with Calipte, the Cecchi rosé made from 100% Sangiovese grapes, first released last year. Lobelia’s bottle features an artistic decoration created through digital printing with organic inks, a solution that avoids the use of heavy metals and maintains full compatibility with the glass recycling process, effectively making the packaging mono-material.
The result is distinctive and elegant packaging, where the botanical world referenced in the name takes shape through a soft, contemporary graphic expression. Lobelia takes its name from the ornamental plant, a delicate flower known for its elegant colours and lightness, qualities that echo the wine’s freshness and expressive finesse. A botanical reference that ties together the visual identity of the bottle and its aromatic profile.
2025 VINTAGE
The 2025 vintage in Tuscany was marked by particularly balanced conditions. A rainy spring ensured adequate water reserves for the vegetative season, followed by a cool summer with occasional rainfall. After a June with temperatures above the seasonal average, early July rains brought the climate back to milder levels, favouring optimal grape ripening and resulting in a harvest of outstanding quality, with intense aromatic profiles, balanced acidity and pronounced salinity.
Tasting Notes
Lobelia 2025 (link) shows a delicate straw-yellow colour with bright reflections. The bouquet is intense and fragrant, with elegant floral notes reminiscent of white flowers and citrus sensations that enhance its freshness. On the palate it is savoury and lilvely, with a fresh and persistent finish marked by hints of Mediterranean herb.
Lobelia is a wine designed for the table and for sharing – ideal both as an aperitif and paired with fish, vegetable-based dishes, white meats and even Asian cuisine.
