Quality, research, and continuity reward the vision of the historic winery in Valpolicella
Pedemonte di Valpolicella (VR), October 2025 – 2025 has been a year of consolidation and renewal for the Tedeschi family (link). The recent rebranding along with the new claim “Dedicated to knowledge” summarize the philosophy that brings together our values of innovation, skill, and valorization of the land that have always guided our work in the winery. This vision translates into constant research, which currently includes four projects in collaboration with the University of Verona, La Sapienza di Roma, and the Edmund Mach Institute of San Michele all’Adige, as well as a production that stays faithful to the identity of Valpolicella.
As we follow this path of consistency and commitment, this year Tedeschi wines have once again been the recipient of numerous recognitions in Italy and internationally, which serve to confirm the solidity of their style and the quality of the work that they represent. In a landscape that is continually evolving and in which consumers are becoming ever more attentive, demanding, and aware, the success achieved by the winery is not merely an accomplishment, but rather a true sign that the high quality of wines is recognized. “These awards confirm that our path, based on solid values, the love of Valpolicella, and the idea that wine can be an authentic expression of culture and territory,” explain Sabrina, Antonietta and Riccardo Tedeschi.
Monica Larner, the wine critic for Italian wines for the renown Robert Parker Wine Advocate, has included five Tedeschi wines in her reportItaly, Veneto: New Releases (Amarone & Soave), dedicated to an exclusive selection of 64 labels “from some of the best estates as well as personal favorites.” Larner has highlighted the expansion of the winery, the establishment of the new wine library for the conservation of old labels, and the creation of the white wine GA.RY, a refined blend of Garganega, Rhine Riesling, and Chardonnay. Among the most valued wines, stands the Valpolicella Classico Superiore La Fabriseria, defined as “one of the most significant interpretations of the denomination.”
Additionally, Eric Guido in his report Veneto Rising: Amarone, Soave and Beyond, published in Vinous has praised the stylistic coherence and balance of Tedeschi wines, affirming that “The Tedeschi Amarone is fantastic, more savory than sweet and splendidly balanced. Their single vineyard Valpolicella Superiore surpasses other wines like it from the region.” Guido awarded Tedeschi wines scores of between 91 and 95, acclaiming the white wine, GA.RY, as “a total pleasure to taste” and describing the Marne 180 2021 as a “gastronomic and harmonious
Amarone.”
James Suckling (link) confirmed the excellence of the Tedeschi range by awarding scores of between 90 and 94 points, while Ian D’Agata conferred 98 points to the Capitel Monte Olmi 2015 and 91 points to the Valpolicella Maternigo 2021, defining it as “vivacious, elegant, and having great gastronomic flexibility.” The recognition the Tedeschi winery by Wine Spectator as one of the 69 Classic Wineries selected for OperaWine 2026 —from among only seven wineries in Valpolicella — further consolidates the winery’s reputation as an ambassador of quality and territorial identity. Additional international recognition was given to Marne 180 that was awarded the Gold Medal at the Korea Wine Challenge 2025 and the Silver Medal at the Decanter World Wine Award 2025 along with a formal invitation to the Decanter Fine Wine Encounter 2026.
Falstaff awarded the winery five stars bestowing particular honors to the big Tedeschi Amarone wines: the Maternigo Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Riserva 2016 awarded 97 points and the Capitel Monte Olmi Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico Riserva 2018 awarded 96 points.
The Capitel Monte Olmi Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico Riserva 2018 has also been recognized nationally: it was included among the 30 “Stelle Polari” of the “Guida Oro I Vini di Veronelli” 2026, it received three “Bicchieri” from the Gambero Rosso, five “Grappoli” from Bibenda, the Crown from the Vini Buoni d’Italia Touring Club Guide, 96 points from Doctor Wine Cernilli, and a Gold Medal from The Wine Hunter Merano, along with a nomination for a Plantinum Medal.
The dedication, the work, and the family synergy continue to bear fruit as we maintain a vision that unites the past and the future and harvests unanimous praise.
