Alsace: La Tournée des Terroirs

Building on the remarkable successes of 2023 and 2024, la Tournée des Terroirs is back for a much-anticipated 3rd edition!

An event like no other, and a huge success for its first iterations in 2023 and 2024, LA TOURNÉE DES TERROIRS (link) is somewhere between a wandering music festival and a wine tasting event. Over the course of the events so far, more than 15,000 visitors have had the opportunity to meet over 200 Alsace wine producers, present every Sunday showcasing a vast range of terroirs! This fun, unifying experience is the first of its kind in France.

Led by the producers themselves, LA TOURNÉE DES TERROIRS aims to highlight the exceptional diversity of Alsace’s terroirs. This original, ambitious, and immersive experience was awarded the Coup de Coeur trophy for its 2023 programme in the “Terroir promotion” category of the TROPHÉES DE L’OENOTOURISME 2024 (link). This award, presented by the leading wine magazine TERRE DE VINS (link), recognises those in the French wine industry who are finding innovative ways to promote the country’s vineyards. It’s a wonderful mark of recognition for the tremendous collective energy and teamwork that went into organising the event!

Back in force

This summer, the long-awaited TOURNÉE DES TERROIRS 2025 event will run from Sunday 1st June to Sunday 20th July, offering another great opportunity to experience and discover the Alsace Wine Route in a fresh and exciting way—through the richness of its terroirs.

LA TOURNÉE DES TERROIRS was launched in 2023 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Alsace Wine Route. A truly unique wine tourism event, its aim has always been to shine a light on the exceptional richness of Alsace’s terroirs, an ambition it wholeheartedly lived up to in both 2023 and 2024! This third edition promises to be as friendly and fun as those that came before, with almost 35 workshops and a hundred producers on show.

This year, Katzenthal, Hunawihr, and Dambach-la-Ville are just three of the eight venues open to experts and the wine-curious alike—every Sunday from the 1st of June to the 20th of July, from 10am to 7pm—from the north to the south of the Alsace Wine Route. All sites have been designed to comfortably accommodate 1,000 attendees, far exceeding the 500 visitors we welcomed to our previous editions.

A new programme…inspired by Japan!

On the programme for this year: a pop-up bar hosted by local winegrowers in truly spectacular locations; wine lists featuring only local wines; unusual tastings in the vines; culinary events; nature workshops; guided tours; and the usual “chill out” area. All of this in a family-friendly atmosphere, with music provided by a Strasbourg-based DJ collective.
One of the ambitions of LA TOURNÉE DES TERROIRS is to highlight how wines from Alsace delight food lovers everywhere by complementing a vast range of cuisines from all over the world, from street food to fine dining, while always placing an emphasis on local ingredients. This year we’ve decided to showcase flavours from Japan: at least four chefs specialising in Japanese cuisine will be in attendance, timed to coincide with Alsace being featured at the World Expo in Osaka (link)!

In line with Alsace winegrowers’ commitment to corporate social responsibility, particular attention is paid to the social and environmental impact of LA TOURNÉE DES TERROIRS, including practical measures such as the use of portable solar panels, recycled materials, locally sourced partner service providers, etc. This is all part of the region’s ongoing responsible and sustainable approach.
